Children's Recreation in Burgen
Do you get worried about your offspring the minute they leave the house? No wonder. The continuously increasing traffic makes it risky to play outside the safety of your own four walls.
Everywhere except in Burgen.
Thanks to its setting, off the beaten track at the end of the Frohnbach valley, Burgen is spared the heavy traffic and thick exhaust fumes found along the Moselle valley itself.
Our children grow up in a countryside of meadows, woods and streams which offer our kids everything they need for their daily adventure.

The children of Burgen and our visitor's families can enjoy the swings and slides, build miniature worlds in the covered sandpit and get lots of exercise on the gymnastic bars on our playground, which was created by the culture society of Burgen next to the town hall and within a stones throw of the vineyard "Kirchberg".
Anyone who wants even more exercise and prefers it in an aquatic environment should consider visiting the swimming pool in Bernkastel-Kues, just 8 miles away.

During the summer holidays, Burgen's culture society together with the local authority of Bernkastel-Kues organises a "Chldren's Recreation" for children between 6 and 12. It last for two weeks (but excludes the weekends) and each year it revolves around a different theme.

It is run by a trained children's educationalist Anne Vackiner-Konrad (to be seen in the picture on the left with her husband, Burgen's wooden toymaker Alfred Konrad) and the nature kindergarten specialist Steffi Feller (shown on the right, with her daughter Marie-Claire).
