The three vineyards surrounding Burgen are called Burgener Kirchberg, Burgener Hasenläufer und Burgener Römerberg. The last, parallel to the world famous Brauneberger Juffer also enjoys international repute.
Our vintners are ever ready to introduce you to the wide variety of wines that they produce in a relaxed and cosy atmosphere.
If you would like to experience the wine harvest in October, why not book an unforgetable day in the vineyards of Burgen with the wine guide Anette Tengelmann on the "Eco Vin" Estate Pauly-Bohn.

The slope faces southeast and has soft slate soil; protected from the westerly winds by a strip of woodland and so enjoys enough moisture even in the driest years.
Fruity wines with robust acidity and strong bouquet

The undulating southwest facing slopes receive the sun from many different angles. The vineyard is circumvented by a wide valley formed by a meander of the Moselle which was cut off and dried up 200,000 years ago. The soil, derived from Devonian slate with high humus content, is ideal for the vine.
Delicate, full-bodied wines with the typical Riesling bouquet

Ideal south facing slope which catches the sun the whole day long; The soil is deep and rich in humus on a base of Devonian slate which forms the important water reservoir.
Aromatic Riesling wines of the highest quality with elegant bouquet.
Our vintner are not restricted to the vineyards in close proximity to Burgen. Some also possess vineyards in Bernkastel-Kues and other wine resorts along the Moselle. So it is quite likely that you can enjoy a Bernkasteler Kardinalsberg or a Wehlener Sonnenuhr during a wine tasting in Burgen.
